Back to school for Walker & Co

It was back to school for some of the team at local secondary school, Lytchett Minster in Dorset.

In June, it was time for us to take a second visit to the school and share the value of financial education to a group of willing Year 9 students.

As advisers, we know only too well how sensible it is to establish good money habits at a young age. They set you up for life!

Lee, Peter and Emma settled in to help local students better understand the basics of budgeting and long-term planning. The team last visited the school in July 2025, and returned to catch up with students aged between 13 and 14 years old.

Our workshops covers five key areas:

• Personal finances and saving
• Budgeting
• Borrowing
• Staying safe online
• Planning for the future, including pensions and tax
